 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  wish to express their sincere condolences to
 4    the family and friends of  F.  Owen  McKeaney,  who  recently
 5    passed away; and

 6        WHEREAS,  F.  Owen  McKeaney  was  an  entertainment  and
 7    restaurant  entrepreneur  who owned most of Rush and Division
 8    Street nightlife legends such  as  The  Lodge,  Shenannigans,
 9    Bootleggers,  Mother's Too, Hangge Uppe, Pippin's, Streeters,
10    Life's Too Short, and River Shannon; and

11        WHEREAS, Mr. McKeaney was well  known  for  his  work  in
12    helping  Chicago police officers and their families killed or
13    injured in the line  of  duty;  and  he  hosted  hundreds  of
14    fundraisers   for   various   charities   both   locally  and
15    nationally; and

16        WHEREAS, Mr. McKeaney  was  a  longtime  parishioner  and
17    supporter of Old Saint Patrick's Church; he was President/CEO
18    of the Lodge Management Group; he was an active member of the
19    community  in several organizations that include the Division
20    Street Merchants Association where he served as President and
21    Founder, he  was  Treasurer  of  the  North  Dearborn  Street
22    Association,  a  member  of  the North State Astor Lake Shore
23    Drive Association, the Near North Preservation  Council,  the
24    River  West  Association,  and  a  former board member of the
25    Greater North Michigan Avenue Association, he  was  an  early
26    advocate  and  supporter  of  the  Community  Action Policing
27    (C.A.P.S.), the  original  chairman  for  the  18th  District
28    Hospitality Committee, and sponsored charity fundraisers such
29    as "Wing Fest" that benefited the National Multiple Sclerosis
30    Society Greater Illinois Chapter; and

31        WHEREAS,  The  passing of F. Owen McKeaney will be deeply
32    felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Lyn;

 1    his  son,  Brian;  and  his  daughters,  Lauren  and  Shanan;
 2    therefore, be it

 3        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
 4    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 5    we  mourn,  along with all who knew him, the death of F. Owen
 6    McKeaney of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further

 7        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 8    presented  to the family of F. Owen McKeaney with our sincere
 9    condolences.
