1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Board of Governors of the Ida Crown Jewish
3 Academy is holding the annual Dr. Edward A. Crown Scholarship
4 Dinner on Sunday, March 18, 2001; and
5 WHEREAS, This year, Daniel and Alida Harris will be
6 honored with the Alumni of the Year Award; and
7 WHEREAS, Daniel and Alida Harris are 1978 graduates of
8 the Ida Crown Jewish Academy; Daniel Harris has served with
9 the Academy for twenty-one years, recently taking the
10 position of Associate Principal; Alida Harris has been
11 employed with I. Starck Co. for twenty years and is a
12 certified diamondologist; and
13 WHEREAS, Daniel and Alida Harris traveled to Israel after
14 their Academy graduation, with Alida Harris on Hachshara and
15 Daniel Harris at Yeshivat Or Someach; Daniel Harris received
16 his Bachelor's degree from Northeastern Illinois University
17 and his Master's of Education degree from Temple University;
18 Alida Harris received her Bachelor's degree in Political
19 Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago; and
20 WHEREAS, Daniel and Alida Harris are the proud parents of
21 three children; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we congratulate Daniel and Alida Harris on receiving the
25 Alumni of the Year Award from the Ida Crown Jewish Academy at
26 the annual Dr. Edward A. Crown Scholarship Dinner; and be it
27 further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Daniel and Alida Harris.
