 1                  AMENDMENT TO HOUSE RESOLUTION 122

 2        AMENDMENT NO. _______.  Amend House  Resolution  122,  on
 3    page   2,   immediately  below  line  10,  by  inserting  the
 4    following:

 5        "RESOLVED, That the plan for  housing  for  the  homeless
 6    mentally  ill  should include, but not necessarily be limited
 7    to, the following:
 8             (1)  an estimate of  the  total  number  of  housing
 9        units  needed, with information on the specific locations
10        where these housing units are needed;
11             (2)  information on what locations are  in  need  of
12        treatment  facilities  and  supportive  services  for the
13        homeless mentally ill;
14             (3)  an annual need assessment that  determines  the
15        number of homeless mentally ill and the number of housing
16        units needed to provide housing for these persons; and
17             (4)  statistics  and other information from the 2000
18        census data, incorporated into the annual need assessment
19        and other aspects of the plan as appropriate; and  be  it
20        further

21        RESOLVED, That in developing the plan for housing for the
22    homeless   mentally   ill,   we  urge  the  Illinois  Housing
23    Development  Authority  to  enlist  the  cooperation  of  the

 1    Department of Human Services and  the  other  State  agencies
 2    that  administer  and use the State Consolidated Housing Plan
 3    and  to  obtain  input  and  direction  from  community-based
 4    residential treatment facilities that have been designated by
 5    the Office of Mental Health Services  of  the  Department  of
 6    Human  Services to serve the homeless mentally ill; and be it
 7    further"
