1 AN ACT concerning insurance.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Health Maintenance Organization Act is
5 amended by adding Section 2-8.5 as follows:
6 (215 ILCS 125/2-8.5 new)
7 Sec. 2-8.5. Physician-provider payment guarantee. A
8 contract between an organization and a provider that is
9 executed or renewed on or after the effective date of this
10 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly that provides for
11 intermediaries to administer payments to a physician-provider
12 must contain a provision obligating the organization to
13 guarantee that the payments will be made to the
14 physician-provider.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16 becoming law.
