 1        AN ACT in relation to the regulation of professions.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Illinois Public Accounting Act is amended
 5    by changing Section 1 as follows:

 6        (225 ILCS 450/1) (from Ch. 111, par. 5501)
 7        (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2014)

 9        Sec. 1.  Any person, 18 eighteen years of age  or  older,
10    who has received from the University of Illinois, hereinafter
11    called the University, a certificate of his qualifications as
12    hereinafter   provided,  shall  be  styled  and  known  as  a
13    "Certified Public Accountant,"  and  no  other  person  shall
14    assume  such  title  or use the abbreviation "C. P.A." or any
15    words or letters to indicate that the person using  the  same
16    is a certified public accountant.

19        Sec.  1.   Any person, 18 eighteen years of age or older,

21    qualifications as hereinafter provided, shall be  styled  and

23    shall  assume  such title or use the abbreviation "C.P.A." or

25    same is a certified public accountant.

26        Section  95.   No  acceleration or delay.  Where this Act
27    makes changes in a statute that is represented in this Act by
28    text that is not yet or no longer in effect (for  example,  a
29    Section  represented  by  multiple versions), the use of that
30    text does not accelerate or delay the taking  effect  of  (i)

 1    the  changes made by this Act or (ii) provisions derived from
 2    any other Public Act.
