1 AN ACT concerning health information.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental
5 Disabilities Administrative Act is amended by changing
6 Section 31a as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 1705/31a) (from Ch. 91 1/2, par. 100-31a)
8 Sec. 31a. Computer records. If computer printouts of the
9 Department's records are offered as evidence, the Secretary
10 shall certify that those computer records are true and exact
11 representations of records properly entered into standard
12 electronic computing equipment, in the regular course of the
13 Department's business, at or reasonably near the time of
14 occurrence of the facts recorded, from trustworthy and
15 reliable information. Such a certified computer printout
16 shall without further proof, be admitted into evidence before
17 the Department or in any legal proceeding and shall be prima
18 facie proof of the correctness of the entries in the computer
19 printout therein.
