1 AN ACT concerning aquatic life.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Fish and Aquatic Life Code is amended by
5 changing Section 10-100 as follows:
6 (515 ILCS 5/10-100) (from Ch. 56, par. 10-100)
7 Sec. 10-100. Release of aquatic life. It is shall be
8 unlawful to release any aquatic life into waters of this
9 State without first securing permission of the Department to
10 do so, except that the owner of a body of water may release
11 aquatic life into waters wholly upon his or her property that
12 are indigenous to the State of Illinois. The Department shall
13 have the authority to promulgate necessary rules and
14 regulations, under the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act,
15 regulating the possession, transportation, and shipping of
16 aquatic life not indigenous to the State of Illinois. All
17 aquatic life may be released into waters from which they were
18 taken.
