1 AN ACT concerning deceptive business practices.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
5 Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2MM as follows:
6 (815 ILCS 505/2MM new)
7 Sec. 2MM. Cellular phone reconnection charges. A
8 provider of cellular phone service must, for purposes of
9 charging for calls, treat a call placed by a caller to a
10 particular telephone number within 90 seconds after
11 disconnection of a call by that caller to that telephone
12 number as a continuation of the disconnected call. A person
13 who violates this Section commits an unlawful practice within
14 the meaning of this Act.
