1 AN ACT in relation to housing.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Housing Authorities Act is amended by
5 changing Section 8.3 as follows:
6 (310 ILCS 10/8.3) (from Ch. 67 1/2, par. 8.3)
7 Sec. 8.3. Power to lease, rent, and take other actions
8 with respect to property. An Authority has power to lease or
9 rent any of the housing or other accommodations or any of the
10 lands, buildings, structures, or facilities embraced in any
11 project and to establish and revise the rents or charges
12 therefor; to purchase, lease, obtain options upon, acquire by
13 eminent domain or otherwise, sell, exchange, transfer or
14 assign, any property, real or personal, or any interest
15 therein; to acquire any property, real or personal, or any
16 interest therein from any firm, corporation or any municipal,
17 State or Federal government or any agency, instrumentality or
18 subdivision thereof by gift, grant, or legacy; to own, hold,
19 clear and improve property; in its discretion to insure or
20 provide for the insurance of the property or operations of
21 the Authority against such risks as the Authority may deem
22 advisable.
