92_HB3126eng HB3126 Engrossed LRB9202613DJgc 1 AN ACT in relation to health. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 (305 ILCS 5/5-18 rep.) 5 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by 6 repealing Section 5-18. 7 Section 10. The Communicable Disease Prevention Act is 8 amended by adding Section 2d as follows: 9 (410 ILCS 315/2d new) 10 Sec. 2d. The Illinois Department of Public Health may 11 pay for health insurance coverage with funds appropriated for 12 this purpose on behalf of persons who are infected with the 13 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and are eligible for 14 "continuation coverage" as provided by the federal 15 Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 or 16 group health insurance policies. The Illinois Department of 17 Public Health shall adopt rules to establish income 18 eligibility requirements for participation in this health 19 insurance coverage program. The Illinois Department of Public 20 Health shall also adopt rules and regulations to administer 21 this program that are in compliance with the requirements of 22 the federal Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency 23 Act of 1990. 24 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 25 becoming law.
