92_HB3015enr HB3015 Enrolled LRB9203729LBgcB 1 AN ACT concerning radiation. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Radiation Protection Act of 1990 is 5 amended by adding Section 25.2 as follows: 6 (420 ILCS 40/25.2 new) 7 Sec. 25.2. Installation and servicing of radiation 8 machines. 9 (a) Beginning January 1, 2002, a service provider who 10 installs or services radiation machines in the State of 11 Illinois must register with the Department. An operator of a 12 radiation installation that is registered under Section 24.7 13 is not required to register under this Section to service the 14 radiation machines that it owns or leases. 15 (b) A service provider who installs a radiation machine 16 in the State of Illinois must report the installation to the 17 Department. 18 (c) A service provider who services a radiation machine 19 in a radiation installation in the State of Illinois that is 20 not registered under Section 24.7 must report the service to 21 the Department. 22 (d) The Department is authorized to adopt rules to 23 implement this Section, including rules assessing application 24 and annual registration fees. Application and registration 25 fees are not refundable. 26 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 27 becoming law.
