1 AN ACT concerning mental health.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Guardianship and Advocacy Act is amended
5 by changing Section 10 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 3955/10) (from Ch. 91 1/2, par. 710)
7 Sec. 10. The Legal Advocacy Service shall do the
8 following:
9 (1) Make available legal counsel to eligible persons in
10 judicial proceedings arising out of the "Mental Health and
11 Developmental Disabilities Code", enacted by the Eightieth
12 General Assembly, as now or hereafter amended, including but
13 not limited to admission, civil commitment, legal competency
14 and discharge;
15 (2) Make available or provide legal counsel and
16 representation to eligible persons to enforce rights or
17 duties arising out of any mental health or related laws,
18 local, State or federal.
