1 AN ACT in relation to vehicles.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
5 changing Section 11-1305 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/11-1305) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-1305)
7 Sec. 11-1305. Lessors of visitor vehicles - Duty upon
8 receiving notice of violation of this Article or local
9 parking regulation. Every person in whose name a vehicle is
10 registered pursuant to law and who leases such vehicle to
11 others, after receiving written notice of a violation of this
12 Article or a parking regulation of a local authority
13 involving such vehicle, shall upon request provide such
14 police officers as have authority of the offense, and the
15 court having jurisdiction thereof, with a written statement
16 of the name and address of the lessee at the time of such
17 offense and the identifying number upon the registration
18 plates and registration sticker or stickers of such vehicle.
19 Compliance with this Section does not relieve the lessor of a
20 vehicle from liability resulting from a violation of this
21 Article or from a violation of a parking regulation of a
22 local authority.
