 1        AN ACT regarding airports.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Joint Airports Act is amended by changing
 5    Section 1 as follows:

 6        (620 ILCS 20/1) (from Ch. 15 1/2, par. 601)
 7        Sec. 1.  Any county or any municipality within the county
 8    may, under the "Intergovernmental Cooperation Act",  approved
 9    September  11,  1973, as now or hereafter amended, enter into
10    an agreement with other counties or municipalities, or  both,
11    to   jointly   establish  and  operate  an  airport  and  its
12    facilities.    The  Intergovernmental  Agreement   shall   be
13    effective  upon its execution by the corporate authorities of
14    each county or municipality that is a party to the  agreement
15    and  shall continue in effect until terminated as provided in
16    Section 5 of this Act.
