1 AN ACT concerning voluntary health service plans.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Voluntary Health Services Plans Act is
5 amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
6 (215 ILCS 165/3) (from Ch. 32, par. 597)
7 Sec. 3. It is shall be unlawful for any person, except a
8 health services plan corporation, incorporated under this
9 Act, to establish, maintain or operate a voluntary health
10 services plan. This prohibition, however, shall not be
11 construed as preventing a person from furnishing health
12 services to his employees or from furnishing such medical
13 services as are required under the workers' compensation laws
14 and related legislation, when the employees are not charged
15 for such services; nor shall it be construed to prohibit an
16 insurance company, or other corporation or society, which is
17 subject to the supervision of the Director from operating in
18 accordance with the laws governing insurance companies or
19 such corporations or societies; nor shall it be construed to
20 prohibit the continued operation of any medical or health
21 service plan in existence and functioning at the effective
22 date of this Act.
