1 AN ACT in relation to child support.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Non-Support Punishment Act is amended by
5 changing Section 7 as follows:
6 (750 ILCS 16/7)
7 Sec. 7. Prosecution Prosecutions by Attorney General.
8 In addition to enforcement proceedings by the several State's
9 Attorneys, a proceeding for the enforcement of this Act may
10 be instituted and prosecuted by the Attorney General in
11 cases referred by the Illinois Department of Public Aid
12 involving persons receiving child and spouse support services
13 under Article X of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Before
14 referring a case to the Attorney General for enforcement
15 under this Act, the Department of Public Aid shall notify the
16 person receiving child and spouse support services under
17 Article X of the Illinois Public Aid Code of the Department's
18 intent to refer the case to the Attorney General under this
19 Section for prosecution.
