Senate Sponsors: HENDON. Short description: CRIM CD-UNLAWFUL WEAPONS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that certain violations relating to the unlawful use of weapons involving carrying concealed firearms or carrying firearms in a vehicle or on public ways within municipalities are Class A misdemeanors for the first offense when the defendant is either: (1) a female victim of sexual assault, (2) a female who has an order of protection issued against another person, or (3) a female who resides in a municipality or county in which a sex offender convicted 2 or more times of certain sex offenses involving force or the threat of force resides, is employed, or attends school. Effective immediately.
