Short description: 
MINORS-TOBACCO-USE-POSSESSION                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Sale of Tobacco to Minors Act. Changes the short title      
   to the Prevention of Tobacco Use by Minors Act.  Prohibits minors from      
   buying or possessing tobacco (now only the buying of tobacco by minors      
   and the sale and distribution of tobacco  to  minors  is  prohibited).      
   Provides  that the court may impose for possession of tobacco products      
   by a minor up to 25 hours of community service or  require  completion      
   of a smoking cessation program for the first offense, may impose up to      
   25  hours  of  community  service and a fine not to exceed $25 for the      
   second offense, and may impose up to 50 hours of community service and      
   a fine not to exceed $50 for the third or subsequent  offense.  Amends      
   the  Criminal Identification Act.  Provides that violations by persons      
   under 18 years of age of the Prevention of Tobacco Use by  Minors  Act      
   are not reportable offenses to the Department of State Police.  Amends      
   the  Illinois  Uniform  Conviction Information Act.  Provides that the      
   definitions of "criminal history record information" and  "conviction       
   information"  do  not  include violations by persons under 18 years of      
   age of the Prevention of Tobacco Use by Minors Act.
