Short description: 
IGNITION INTERLOCK DEVICE                                                  

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends  the  Illinois  Vehicle  Code  and  the  Unified  Code  of      
   Corrections.  Provides that a circuit court may,  as  a  condition  of      
   issuance  of  a  Judicial  Driving  Permit,  prohibit  a  person  from      
   operating  a  motor  vehicle  not  equipped with an ignition interlock      
   device.  Provides that the Secretary of State may, as a  condition  of      
   reinstatement of driving privileges or of a restricted driving permit,      
   prohibit  a person from operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an      
   ignition interlock device.  Imposes penalties for  certain  violations      
   involving ignition interlock devices.                                       
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          625 ILCS 5/6-205                                                     
          625 ILCS 5/6-208                                                     
          625 ILCS 5/6-208.1                                                   
          625 ILCS 5/11-501                                                    
        Further amends the Illinois Vehicle Code.  Deletes the provision       
   that the Secretary of State may, as a condition of reinstatement of         
   driving privileges or of a restricted driving permit, prohibit a per-       
   son from operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition in-        
   terlock device. Removes the provision authorizing the Secretary of          
   State to use ignition interlock device requirements when granting           
   driving relief to an individual who has committed his or her first          
   offense.
