Provides that a treasurer or custodian of public funds may enter into an agreement with other institutions for the deposit of securities for public funds held by banks and savings and loan associations. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the agreements may be made with other "safekeeping" institutions for the deposit of securities for public funds. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Deletes everything. Amends the Public Funds Deposit Act. Provides that a treasurer or custodian of public funds may deposit public funds in a savings bank and may enter into an agreement with a savings bank, with a federally insured financial institution or trust company, or with any agency of the U.S. government for the deposit of securities for public funds held by banks, savings banks, and savings and loan associations.
