House Sponsors: KOSEL Short description: H ED-TUITION WAIVER-WAIVE CONF Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends various Acts relating to the governance of the public universities in Illinois. Provides that as a condition of receiving a tuition and fees waiver on or after July 1, 1999, a student must file with the university a waiver document stating that if the student receives a tuition and fees waiver, then the student waives all rights to confidentiality with respect to the contents of the waiver document. Sets forth the contents of the waiver document and requires the student to sign the document. Provides that upon filing the document, the student waives all of his or her rights to confidentiality with respect to the contents of the document. Requires the university to make the document available for inspection upon request. Requires the Illinois Student Assistance Commission to prepare a form waiver document and to provide copies of the form upon request. Effective July 1, 1999.
