IL LIBRARY-ADVANTAGE GRANTS                                                

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Library System Act.  Provides that to qualify      
   for a grant from the State  Librarian  a  school  library  must  offer      
   services  meeting  or showing progress toward meeting the standards of      
   the Illinois  School  Library  Media  Association  (now  the  Illinois      
   Library  Association).   Creates  the  Illinois  Information Advantage      
   Grant Program to be administered by  the  State  Librarian.   Provides      
   that  the  State  Librarian  shall  distribute grants to libraries and      
   library systems to ensure access to electronic information  resources.      
   Effective immediately.
