Short description: 
CRIM CD-INTERNET GAMBLING                                                  

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Prohibits  Internet  gambling.      
   Establishes penalties.                                                      
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          720 ILCS 5/28-1.1                                                    
        Deletes everything. Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Prohibits a      
   person  from  establishing, maintaining, or operating an Internet site      
   in Illinois that permits a person to play a game of  chance  or  skill      
   for  money  or  other  thing  of value by means of the Internet.  Also      
   prohibits a person from making a wager  on  the  results  of  a  game,      
   contest,  or a political nomination, election, or appointment by means      
   of the Internet.  Provides that the penalty for a first offense  is  a      
   Class  A  misdemeanor  and a Class 4 felony for a second or subsequent      
   conviction.
