Short description: 
CRIM CD-RECKLESS HOMICIDE                                                  

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of  1961.   Increases  the  penalty  for      
   reckless  homicide  in  which the defendant was under the influence of      
   alcohol or other drugs from a Class 2 felony  to  a  Class  1  felony.      
   Increases  the term of imprisonment that may be imposed in these cases      
   from not less than 3 years and not more than 14 years to not less than      
   4 years and not more than 30 years. If the defendant kills 2  or  more      
   individuals  as part of a single course of conduct, increases the term      
   of imprisonment that may be imposed from not less than 6 years and not      
   more than 28 years to not less than 8  years  and  not  more  than  60      
   years.  Effective immediately.
