House Sponsors: BOST. Short description: FIREARMS-ID CARD Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Provides that each applicant for a Firearm Owner's Identification Card shall provide the Department of State Police with either a driver's license or Illinois Identification Card number. Provides that the Department of State Police shall use a person's digital photograph and signature from his or her Illinois driver's license or Illinois Identification Card for the Card. Deletes provision that permits the Director of State Police to require other personal identifying information as may be required by the Director of State Police to be placed on a Firearm Owner's Identification Card. Provides that the conducting of background investigations for the acquisition, possession, and transfer of firearms shall supersede an ordinance of a home rule unit that is inconsistent with the Firearm Owner's Identification Card Act.
