House Sponsors: BRADLEY. Short description: VEH CD-POLICE TOW-SUSPENSION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that (i) when the police tow a car, (ii) the owner, operator, or other person legally entitled to the vehicle does not pay the towing cost, and (iii) the sale or disposition of the vehicle does not cover the towing costs, after specified procedures, the Secretary of State shall suspend the person's driver's license. Effective July 1, 2000.
