House Sponsors: CROSS. Senate Sponsors: WALSH,T Short description: HORSE RACING ACT-RACING DATES Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975. Provides that the Racing Board may call a special meeting to make changes in its allotment of racing dates upon the provision of 15 days notice and an opportunity for affected parties to be heard. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Further amends the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975. Deletes the amendatory provisions from the bill. Provides that an applicant for racing dates may request changes in its award of racing dates if the requested change will not alter the number of allotted racing dates by more than 5%. Provides that if the requested change would increase the number of racing days awarded by the Board, the Board must provide notice to affected parties and provide those parties with an opportunity to provide testimony at the hearing concerning the requested changes. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Deletes reference to: 230 ILCS 5/20 Adds reference to: 230 ILCS 5/30 from Ch. 8, par. 37-30 Deletes everything. Amends the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975. Provides that the Thoroughbred Breeder's Program Task Force shall have until May 1, 2000 (now March 1, 2000) to make its recommendations to the General Assembly. Effective immediately.
