Short description: TORT IMMUNITY-PUBLIC HOSPITAL Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Code of Civil Procedure and the Local Governmental and Governmental Employees Tort Immunity Act. Provides that a public hospital is liable to a patient of the hospital, and the patient has a cause of action against the public hospital, if the patient's treating physician has staff privileges with the public hospital and the physician or other medical care provider practicing at the public hospital fails to diagnose or treat a medical condition that results in physical harm or death because the physician or other medical provider failed to test to diagnose or treat the medical condition within the standard of care.
