Short description: 
CRIM CD-MOTOR VEHICLE-ASSAULT                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Provides  that  committing  an      
   assault by using a motor vehicle is aggravated assault.  Provides that      
   the  penalty  is  a Class 3 felony.  Creates the offense of aggravated      
   battery with a motor vehicle defined  as  knowingly  or  intentionally      
   causing  great bodily harm or permanent disability or disfigurement by      
   means of the operation or use of a motor  vehicle  when  committing  a      
   battery.   Penalty  is a Class 1 felony. Provides that a motor vehicle      
   used to commit any  of  these  offenses  is  subject  to  seizure  and      
   forfeiture.

          There will be an estimated 20 inmates added to the corrections       
          population, and $4,041,900 in additional operating and con-          
          struction costs over ten years.
