Short description: 
PUB HEALTH-POST TRANSPLNT FUND                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends tbe Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of        
   the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Establishes a program by         
   which the Department of Public Health pays post organ transplant main-      
   tenance and retention costs. Provides that the Department shall esta-       
   blish eligibility standards and a application process for the program.      
   Sets some eligibility requirements and criteria that the Department         
   may apply in restricting reimbursements. Lists criteria by which the        
   Department determines a maximum amount to pay per transplant. Requires      
   the Director of Public Health to maintain a list of drugs used in post      
   transplant maintenance and retention that are eligible for reimburse-       
   ment under the program. Establishes a fund from which payments are          
   made under the program. Amends the State Finance Act by adding a post       
   transplant maintenance and retention fund to that Act's list of             
   special funds in the State treasury. Effective July 1, 2000.
