Short description:
OPEN MEETINGS-SCHOOL SECURITY

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Amends the Open Meetings Act. Provides that a school board may
hold a closed meeting to consider security procedures and the use of
personnel and equipment to respond to an actual, a threatened, or a
reasonably potential danger to the safety of students, school
employees, school staff, or school property.
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
Removes the bill's change. Changes the current exemption for
emergency security procedures to remove the requirements that the
security procedures be for an emergency and that the danger be
described in the motion to close the meeting. Makes the exemption
applicable to threatened and reasonably potential dangers as well as
   actual dangers.
