House Sponsors: SMITH,MICHAEL. Short description: ST EMPL GRP INSUR-PREMIUM AMT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971. In the case of a new TRS State annuitant or survivor, provides that the State's contribution toward the cost of participation in the basic program of State group health benefits shall be based on all of the applicable Article 16 pension credit, rather than just the credit arising out of service as a State employee. Specifies that, in the case of a person who participates in the basic program of State group health benefits and receives an annuity or monthly benefit under more than one of the retirement systems established under Articles 14, 15, and 16 of the Illinois Pension Code, the person's responsibility for the cost of participation in the basic program of group health benefits shall be reduced to reflect all of the State contributions to which the person is entitled.
