CRIM CD-DEFACEMENT-FINES                                                   

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the  Criminal  Code  of  1961.   Provides  that  a  person      
   convicted of criminal defacement of property, in addition to any other      
   sentence  that  may  be  imposed,  shall be fined $500 plus the actual      
   costs incurred by the property owner or unit of government  to  abate,      
   remediate,  repair,  or  remove  the  effects  of  the  damage  to the      
   property.  Provides that to the extent permitted by law, reimbursement      
   for the costs of abatement, remediation, repair, or removal  shall  be      
   payable to the person who incurred the costs.                               
          FISCAL NOTE (Illinois State Police)                                  
          If HB 3221 were to become law, there would be no measurable          
          fiscal impact upon the Illinois State Police.
