Senate Sponsors: RADOGNO-LIGHTFORD-PARKER-OBAMA-SMITH Short description: SEX ASSAULT SURVIVOR-TREATMENT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act. Adds these items to the list of emergency services required to be provided by a hospital to an alleged sexual assault survivor: (i) appropriate oral and written information concerning accepted medical procedures for postcoital emergency contraception and medications approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration for use as postcoital emergency contraception and (ii) if requested by the survivor, medication approved by the FDA for use as postcoital emergency contraception, unless contraindicated for medical reasons.
