Provides that the coroner of each county shall receive an annual stipend of $6,500 to be paid by the State if his or her term begins on or after December 1, 2000. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Adds reference to: 55 ILCS 5/4-8002 from Ch. 34, par. 4-8002 Further amends the Counties Code. Provides that the recorder of deeds of Cook County shall receive an annual stipend, payable from State funds, in an amount equal to the stipend paid to each recorder in the other counties of Illinois. Provides that the Cook County Board may not reduce or impair the compensation payable from county funds to the recorder of deeds as a result of the stipend payable from State funds.
