Short description: 
INTERPRETER-DEFENDANT PAY                                                  

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Proceeding Interpreter  Act.   Provides  that      
   the  court  in a criminal proceeding in which interpreter services are      
   provided may enter an order against the defendant upon conviction or a      
   disposition  of  supervision  to  pay  for  the  reasonable  costs  of      
   interpreter services.  Provides that if the court determines that  the      
   defendant  is  indigent the defendant is not required to contribute to      
   the interpreter expense.  Excludes from  this  provision  interpreters      
   for the deaf or hearing impaired.
