House Sponsors: DART. Short description: CRIM CD-PRISON CRIME Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that it is unlawful for a visitor to a penal institution of the Department of Corrections to use a false identification card or alias to gain access to the penal institution. Provides that the penalty is a Class 4 felony. Provides that a criminal offense in furtherance of gang activities that is committed in a penal institution, on the grounds of a penal institution, or within 1,000 feet of a penal institution must be punished as an offense that is one grade higher than the penalty imposed for the offense.
