Short description: ED GRANT-WAIVER-POL-FIRE-CORR Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Higher Education Student Assistance Act and the Public Safety Employee Benefits Act. Provides that beneficiaries of police officer or fire officer survivor grants and grants for dependents of Department of Corrections employees are entitled to the equivalent of 8 semesters or 12 quarters (instead of just 8 semesters or 12 quarters) of tuition and fees at the rate established by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for private institutions. Repeals a Section of the Public Safety Employee Benefits Act concerning educational benefits.
