House Sponsors: HASSERT. Short description: PEN CD-IMRF-COUNTY OFFICERS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Article of the Illinois Pension Code. In the provisions setting forth an optional plan of additional benefits and contributions for elected county officers (ECO) and their survivors, deletes the requirement that the county's participation in the program be approved by the county board. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately. PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission) The fiscal impact of HB 2018 cannot be determined, but could be substantial for the 37 counties that would be required to offer the ECO plan to eligible elected officials.
