Short description: 
MUNI CD-ABANDONED PROPERTY                                                 

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Property Tax Code and  the  Illinois  Municipal             
   Code.   Provides that when a municipality acquires abandoned property,      
   the rights of a holder of a certificate of purchase are limited  to  a      
   sale  in  error.   Provides that a municipality shall not proceed with      
   demolition of a building if any  person  with  a  legal  or  equitable      
   interest in the property has sought a court hearing.                        
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          35 ILCS 200/21-105                                                   
          35 ILCS 200/21-310                                                   
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          55 ILCS 5/5-1121                                                     
        Deletes everything. Amends the Counties  Code  and  the  Illinois      
   Municipal  Code.   Provides  that the cost to a county or municipality      
   for the demolition, repair, or enclosure of an unsafe  building  is  a      
   lien  on all real estate of the owner or owners of the unsafe building      
   (now, the cost is a lien on  the  real  estate  on  which  the  unsafe      
   building is located).
