MNTL HLTH INSP GEN FOLLOW-UP
Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Amends the Abused and Neglected Long Term Care Facility Residents
Reporting Act. Requires facilities and agencies that are the subject
of an approved response to report to the Inspector General on the
status of the implementation of any corrective action. Requires the
Inspector General to conduct an investigation to determine whether the
facility or agency is in compliance with the approved response.
GOVERNOR'S AMENDATORY VETO MESSAGE
Recommends that implementation reports shall be made to the
Department of Human Services Office of Mental Health or Office of
Developmental Disabilities rather than to the Inspector General.
Provides that after the report is received by the Department of
Human Services Office of Mental Health or Office of Developmental
Disabilities, the Inspector General may, rather than shall, conduct
an investigation review in cases of physical abuse, sexual abuse,
or serious neglect resulting in injury or illness to determine
whether the facility is in compliance with the approved response.
