MNTL HLTH INSP GEN FOLLOW-UP                                               

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Abused and Neglected Long Term Care Facility Residents      
   Reporting Act.  Requires facilities and agencies that are the  subject      
   of  an  approved  response  to  report to the Inspector General on the      
   status of the implementation of any corrective action.   Requires  the      
   Inspector General to conduct an investigation to determine whether the      
   facility or agency is in compliance with the approved response.             
        GOVERNOR'S AMENDATORY VETO MESSAGE                                     
        Recommends that implementation reports shall be made to the            
   Department of Human Services Office of Mental Health or Office of           
   Developmental Disabilities rather than to the Inspector General.            
   Provides that after the report is received by the Department of             
   Human Services Office of Mental Health or Office of Developmental           
   Disabilities, the Inspector General may, rather than shall, conduct         
   an investigation review in cases of physical abuse, sexual abuse,           
   or serious neglect resulting in injury or illness to determine              
   whether the facility is in compliance with the approved response.
