Senate Sponsors: GEO-KARIS Short description: CRIM CD-AGG SEX ASSAULT&ABUSE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that aggravated criminal sexual assault is a Class X felony for which the defendant must be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 10 years and not more than 45 years if the defendant, during the commission of the offense, caused bodily harm to the victim or if the defendant, as part of the same course of conduct as the offense, administered a controlled substance to the victim. Aggravated criminal sexual abuse is a Class 1 felony if the defendant, during the commission of the offense, caused bodily harm to the victim or if the defendant, as part of the same course of conduct as the offense, administered a controlled substance to the victim.
