Short description: VEH CD-TOWING-TECHNICAL Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to make a technical change to a Section dealing with towing a vehicle. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 625 ILCS 5/15-110 Adds reference to: 625 ILCS 5/12-821 new Deletes everything. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to require that a motor vehicle for hire that regularly provides transportation of students to or from a public or private school shall meet or exceed all safety requirements of this Code and all applicable federal safety regulations. Provides that this includes a motor vehicle of a municipality or a common carrier authorized to conduct local or interurban transportation of passengers on a regularly scheduled route for a fare if the motor vehicle is engaged in the transportation of students to or from a public or private school. Provides that it is the duty of the school district to ensure that these safety requirements are met.
