Senate Sponsors: CRONIN-WATSON Short description: SCH CD-REMEDIATION PROG-NOTICE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the School Code. Under provisions concerning State goals and assessment, provides that a school district must give written notice to a student's parent or guardian that the student must attend a remediation program at least 10 days before commencement of the remediation program (instead of a reasonable time before commencement of the program). FISCAL NOTE (State Board of Education) This legislation will have no fiscal impact. STATE MANDATES NOTE (State Board of Education) Same as SBE fiscal note. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes everything. Makes changes to the State goals and assess- ment provisions of the School Code concerning assessing the perfor- mance of pupils enrolled in certain grades, test scores becoming part of a student's record, when to give the State Board of Education no- tice of an intention to deviate from the State testing schedule, the Prairie State Achievement Examination, the Prairie State Achievement Award, and other changes.
