Short description: 
MEDICAID-HOSPITL REIMBRSEMENTS                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public  Aid      
   Code. In provisions requiring the Department of Public Aid to make ad-      
   justment payments to hospitals meeting certain requirements,                
   adds as a category  of hospitals eligible for the adjustment payments       
   an Illinois hospital located in Health Service Area (HSA) 11 as de-         
   fined in the Illinois Administrative Code with the highest number of        
   licensed beds as determined by the Department of Public Health based        
   upon a Department report. Corrects a cross-reference.                       
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Changes the description of the added  category  of  hospitals  to      
   receive  an  adjustment  payment to any Illinois hospital located in a      
   county with a population over 250,000 and under 300,000  that  borders      
   another  state  which is within 25 miles of at least 2 hospitals which      
   receive disproportionate share payments under Title XIX of the  Social      
   Security Act and Article V of this Code.                                    
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2.                                                 
        Provides that the population  parameters  stated  for  the  added      
   category  of  hospitals  to  receive an adjustment payment shall be as      
   determined by the 1990 census.
