Short description: 
ENERGY ASSIST ACT-INCOME LEVEL                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Public Utilities Act.  Makes a technical change  in  a      
   Section concerning the recovery of costs associated with the provision      
   of delivery services.                                                       
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          220 ILCS 5/16-108                                                    
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          305 ILCS 20/6                   from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 1406          
        Replaces the title and  everything  after  the  enacting  clause.      
   Amends  the  Energy  Assistance Act of 1989. Provides that the maximum      
   household income eligibility limit may be established annually by  the      
   Department   of   Commerce   and   Community   Affairs,   taking  into      
   consideration the amount of available funding, but at  not  more  than      
   150%  of  the  federal  nonfarm  poverty level. Current law provides a      
   household income limit of 125% of the federal nonfarm  poverty  level.      
   Effective immediately.
