(CRONIN-SULLIVAN-RADOGNO-NOLAND-O'MALLEY) 20 ILCS 4027/25 new Amends the Illinois Violence Prevention Act of 1995. Requires the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority to establish and administer a grant program to be known as the Safe to Learn Program. Provides that funds appropriated to the Authority for this program shall be used to support and fund school-based safety and violence prevention programs, with funds being used for technical assistance and program support, administration of the program, a demonstration and evaluation of a comprehensive prekindergarten through 12th grade school-based violence prevention program in 3 pilot sites, and distribution to school districts in the form of grants. Repeals these provisions on July 1, 2002. Effective July 1, 1999. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
