LANG-SILVA-JONES,LOU-LOPEZ-HOLBROOK, CURRY,JULIE, FOWLER, GILES AND HANNIG. 720 ILCS 5/12-2.7 new Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 to create the offense of endangering school bus transportation. Provides that the offense is committed when a person tampers with a school bus or school bus facility with intent to cause any damage, malfunction, or nonfunction or when a person on a school bus knowingly threatens any driver or passenger with death, with imminent bodily injury, with a deadly weapon, or with words or actions intended to induce belief that the person is armed with a deadly weapon. Provides that the offense is a Class A misdemeanor. FISCAL NOTE (Dept. of Corrections) There would be no corrections population or fiscal impact.
