1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere sympathies to the family and friends of
4 Toula (Panayiota Colis)-Coliopoulos of Glen Ellyn, Illinois,
5 who passed away on December 30, 1997; and
6 WHEREAS, Mrs. Coliopoulos was the sister of State Senator
7 Geo-Karis; she was the daughter of John and Theophani
8 Geo-Karis; she came to the United States in 1922 from
9 Stathio, Tegeas, Greece; and
10 WHEREAS, She married George Coliopoulos in 1926; she was
11 a member of the Assumption Church and a devoted member of the
12 Assumption Women's Club; she was well known in Chicago
13 businesses, remembered as a good business woman, from
14 operating Toula-George's Snack Shop, The Four Seasons
15 Restaurant, and Alfie's Restaurant with her son, John; and
16 WHEREAS, Toula Coliopoulos was the mother of three
17 children, Peter, Fay, and John; she had four grandchildren
18 and six great-grandchildren; she was the sister of the late
19 Alex (Gene), Nick (Diane), and Senator Adeline Geo-Karis;
20 therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
22 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
23 all that knew her, the death of Toula Coliopoulos of Glen
24 Ellyn, Illinois; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to the family of Toula Coliopoulos.
