1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Alphia "Gene" Hartman of Congerville on
4 Wednesday, March 10, 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born on February 27, 1931, the son of
6 Magnus and Esther Hunziker Hartman; he married Carrie L.
7 Knapp on October 16, 1954; and
8 WHEREAS, He owned and operated Gene Hartman and Sons
9 Construction for thirty-three years; and
10 WHEREAS, He was a member of the Congerville Apostolic
11 Christian Church; he was a member of the Woodford County
12 Board for nine years; and
13 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
14 and friends, especially his wife, Carrie; his sons, Mike,
15 Jim, Bob, and Jay; his daughter, Mary Zimmerman; his sisters,
16 Rachael Meyer and Verna Amstutz; thirteen grandchildren; and
17 one great-grandchild; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
19 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
20 and regret the death of Alphia "Gene" Hartman and extend our
21 sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it
22 further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to his widow, Carrie Hartman.
